Applications for the 2023/24 ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships in Switzerland are now open. ETH Zurich is a public research university located in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. The university was founded by the Swiss Federal Government in 1854 after the model of the École Polytechnique in Paris with the aim of educating engineers and scientists. The school focuses primarily on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Like its sister institution EPFL, it is part of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain, and also major part of the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research.

This places it as the fourth-best European university after the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London respectively. Engineering and Science related Masters Degree courses offered at ETH Zurich University.
Both Swiss students and international students are eligible for the scholarships.
Number of Scholarships
The number of scholarships to be awarded is not specified as it depends on available funds.
ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships cover living and study expenses (CHF 12’000 per semester) and a tuition fee waiver.
This scholarship is awarded for the regular duration of the Master’s programme (three or four semesters).
Eligibility Requirements for ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships
For you to be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- Have a very good result in Bachelor’s degree programme from any recognized university
- Make sure to be reachable under the telephone number specified in your CV as the selection process might include a phone/VC interview in February 2023
Kindly note that any student who has been enrolled in a Master’s degree programme at ETH Zurich, or hold a Master degree from any university, are not eligible for this scholarship.
Applications for ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships are supplied online via eApply. Applicants are advised to apply within the first application window.
Applicants are required to, in addition to the documents submitted for Masters Admission, upload a pre-proposal for Masters Thesis (see guidelines). You must develop this yourself and use established scientific citation practice. Note that plagiarism, negligent or intentional misinformation will lead to exclusion from the admission process or revocation of the admission and of any scholarship if discovered later. You are to name two professors as your reference persons.
Applications for the 2023/24 edition start on 1st November, 2022 and end on 15th December, 2022.
